Europe's Best Skiing on a Sweden Vacation

Scandinavia is too often dismissed by British skiers as not being steep enough for good skiing nor cheap enough to make it a worthwhile destination, but these characterizations are not entirely true. A Sweden vacation to Are is well-worth the money because the ski resorts here are truly world-class. This resort is located 400 miles north or Stockholm, close to the Norwegian border.

The most convenient way to get there from London is to go with Neilson, which is the main travel company in the area. They operate a weekly BMI charter from Heathrow to little Ostersund, and the tranfser time is just an hour. Are By is a very attractive village in the center of the action, and this is where most of the hotels and rental apartments are located. It is home to fun restaurants and shops, along with the famous and noisy Swedish nightlife.
