Social Media Sweden Travel Business

American student Peter Sullivan decided on Sweden travel in 2009 in order to study for a tuition-free masters degree at Stockholm University. Two years later, he has little time for study as he pursues his new business in the nascent field of travel social media: Vacation Relation. He and his Swedish co-founder David Los have a brand new office in Stockholm, and have put their studies on hold in order to keep up with their booming business.

Previous travel in the US had inspired Sullivan to first begin thinking about the Vacation Relation concept. He had met some great people on his trip, but not until the end of it, and that was frustrating. He started seeing a need for a social media travelling platform where you could meet new people who would also be at the same vacation spot and who shared your interests. Once users register their information, they are invited to a Facebook event that's shared with fellow travellers, and then they can arrange meet-ups from there.
