Swedish Hotels Classification
Filed in archive Hotel Information on November 23, 2011

© Ben SutherlandThe Swedish Hotel and Research Association, SHR since 2003, has started a classification of its member hotels. The classification system includes two different categories of hotels. They are:
• Hotel: This category comprises hotels serving food over and above breakfast. Rating ranges from one to five stars.
• Hotel Garni: This category comprises hotels which serve breakfast only. Four stars is the highest rating in this category.
The ratings are done on the basis of the services and the facilities they offer to the customers. There are a large number of 5 star hotels in Sweden which have wonderful accommodations. All classified hotels will receive a sign from the SHR, which will be placed at the entrance of their hotels. The sign is valid only if it displays a current year sticker.
There are many renovated manors, century old-inns, elegant resort hotels set in magnificent grounds and genuine mountain lodges in the countryside of Sweden which offers excellent services.
